I was inspired to look up the microwave directions:

Combine Stuffing Mix, 1-1/2 cups hot water and 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp.) cut up
margarine or butter* in microwavable bowl; cover. Microwave on High
5 to 6 min. or until heated through. Fluff with fork.

If I didn't want to enhance it, I'd boil the water in the microwave and
then proceed as usual. I don't see the point of nuking that poor stuffing
mix for 5-6 minutes.
