It costs a bunch to plow and salt the roads multiple times a year
up here. I just paid my winter tax bill: $1514 and change. We don't
have personal property taxes on cars, but the registration fees amount
to a tax. Those are due on one's birthday (what a nice present). Ours
are more than $100 for each car.
