The "common military firearm" of that period was the same as "the
common hunting firearm" . In other words , there was parity between
common civilian firearms and military arms . Hell , some guys owned
their own cannons ! I believe we should also have parity of (at least
small) arms with our military . Oh , and I DO have powder and ball
firearms . As a last resort survival weapon , because I can manufacture
ammunition for it with common easy to find items . Oh , and don't
denigrate the old black powder arms , they were capable of astonishing
accuracy out to a thousand yards or more . If the rocket launcher can't
see you , he can't kill you .
