I think what she is saying is that salt is not the same as sodium. There
can be sodium in a food without any salt (NaCl).

I watched an interesting show in TV this morning, Cooking Over 50, where
they featured sodium and it's role in hypertension. The advice they gave
was to avoid prepared foods because they have such high sodium content.
They recommended using herbs and spices to develop flavours, and, if the
food is still bland, you can add a little salt.


They did an interesting chicken and vegetable stir fry with sesame and
orange.
