My guess is that the steak was sous vide steak which results in a perfectly
cooked steak. The red powder on the ice is Chinese salted plum that's ground
up and dyed red. We like to put it in all kinds of foods. The Mexicans have
their own version which they call "chamoy." The Taiwanese also use it. It
has yet to reach Europe and the mainland.
