Also in Scotland; J and I already had ours last week (Pfizer).
Everybody I know who is over 70, has had their first vaccination. Our Dr
son and his hospital department colleagues got vaccinated in December.
Our GP phoned us at home offering the same appointment time for both
of us; we turned up at the GP's on time, were clocked in through the
car wondow by a socially distanced person with a clipboard, walked to
door (open, so that patients touch nothing) met by doctor who checked ID
again, asked health checks, and jabbed us. Back out with instruction to
wait 15 minutes in our car in the GP car park as a safety precaution,
sound the horn if we felt any reaction. (They have had no reactors yet;
I asked.). The whole procedure went like clockwork and the only
physical contact was with the doctor who injected us. All free on the
NHS and we've had no side effects.
We were given an appointment for our second jab, when they offered us
the first.
