I was taught to eat everything on my plate. No big deal.
When I was young, occasionally my mom would add beets to
the plate. Just plain sliced canned beets that were heated
up in a saucepan. yuk!
I would always eat them first just to get it over with,
saving the better part of the meal for last.
Unfortunately, she saw that and wrongly assumed that
I loved them...the first thing I ate.
