They sure do. That was the highlight of our year. It ranked up there
with Christmas. I especially enjoyed the home made treats that were
being handed out at some houses.
Being in a rural area we never did have many kids trick our treating.
Most of the kids go into town. When our son was young he and his
friends would go to each other's houses and then into town. I used to
make things like caramel corn or candy apples. Then I found out that the
parents were throwing them out. Heck, they were my son's friends. The
parents all knew me.
We had not had any kids around for years, but last year the little girl
two doors down came by. Now I get full size chocolate bars. Any kid who
shows up is in for a treat, but I only buy four.
