canned fish is very much processed in a way to
kill any potential botulism spores, but even then
once in a while you do hear of issues that come up.
often just the result of the workers or processing
line cutting corners somewhere.

i have no problem eating canned fish packed in
oil (i much prefer it compared to fish packed in
water). not that i eat much of it these days but
it used to be a staple for me when i lived on my
own.
