All this chat about crumpets, so I decided to try making them them myself.

Disaster struck, and although the yeast mixture frothed up nice and fluffy
in
the mixing bowl, when cooked in the crumpet rings the results came out dense
and stodgy.

The wife ate a couple because she likes that sort of thing (which is why she
married me) but the rest of them went out for the birds, although history
will not record what they thought of my cooking skills.

I think I will give home made crumpets a wide berth in future.

I wonder what happened! Crumpets are quite stodgy anyway I think. I mean,
they are hardly like a sponge cake innit? ;p
