It is a question to ponder - what would have happened if Hawaii had not be stolen from the people. My guess is that we would have been a neutral country during WWII. The US would have fought only in the European theater, the allies would have prevailed and Japan would control a big chunk of Asia. You could say that the overthrow of Hawaii stopped Japanese expansionism. Or maybe not.
