I did some research on imprinting when I was at university. One of our
ventures involved hatching duck eggs. I found a farm when they had
fertile duck eggs so I got a couple dozen. The farmer threw in a double
yolk goose egg. My mother used it to make her light fruitcakes and had
more than enough for the recipe that calls for 8 eggs. My mother in law
then used the empty shell to make a sort of Christmas tree decoration
diorama.
