Sugarless Prune Nut Cookies

3 well beaten eggs
1 cup golden syrup
grated rind of one lemon
1/4 tsp. salt or substitute
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cup chopped uncooked prunes
1 cup chopped nut meats

Combine well beaten eggs, syrup and grated lemon rind.
Beat well. Sift together salt, flour and baking powder. Add chopped
prunes and nuts. Combine the two mixtures and pour into greased 8 x
12-inch pan and bake in moderate oven at 325 degrees for 45 to 50
minutes. Turn out. Cool and cut.
Makes 14 cookies. This is very sticky and gooey, but real good.
