A friend of mine used to bake wonderful bread in her cast iron
woodstove. She would fire up the stove and when the wood reached the
stage of glowing-red-all-the-way-through-and-disintegrating, she raked
it all to one end of the stove, put the loaf in the other end and close
the door.
