Peugeot mechanisms are well made and used properly (always clockwise)
will last a lifetime. I once had to restore the wooden part of an Alessi
mill that had become damaged and I managed to get it back to new,
sellable condition. I had to take it apart first and the mechanism was
of superb quality. I wish I could get some of these "innards" as the
ones I have for turning pepper mills are of nowhere near the same quality.
