It is often best to remain under the radar. A couple years ago I was
out bicycling and came across a large plastic garbage bag in a ditch. It
reeked of rotten meat and there were some vultures hanging around. My
thought at the time was that maybe there was a body in the bag. I sure
didn't want to open it up. The smell would have been enough to gag a
maggot. If I knew there was an ongoing search for a missing person I
could have called the police. If it turned out to have been body I would
suddenly find myself being a person of interest in a criminal investigation.
