Not everyone wants to own a house, Sheldon. You don't seem to realize
that renters pay property taxes but those costs are included in the
rent. In some rare instances utilites such as water and even
electricity may be included in the rent. Don't have to mow lawns or
even think about landscaping. The management company handles all that
stuff along with repairs/replacements.
I loved my last apartment. 1100 sq. ft, 2 beds, 2 full baths. With a
nice 22 sq. ft. fenced patio. Private, quiet.
Now I have to pay for every little thing. Property taxes, homeowners
insurance (I always had renters insurance), plumbers, electricians. If
something breaks, I pay for it. Used to be I could just call the
apartment manager and they'd send someone over to repair or replace
whatever. Now I have to pay out of pocket.
Different mindset. You'll never understand.
