Graham, an ex-Brit iirc, is probably using it in the Brit slang
sense, which roughly translates as calling a woman a bitch.

Calling a woman a cow, isn't a reference to bovine similarities, nor
is calling her a bitch a reference to doglike qualities. Calling her a
bird, hen, duck,chick doesn't remotely imply she flies and has feathers.
