Burger King never had a "dress your own burger" setup. They had a
salad bar in the very late 70's through mid 80's, but that was a
separate product.

"Have It Your Way(tm)" always referred to the fact that you could
order it any way you wanted it and they would assemble it that way
for you. Not that you could pilfer fixings from the salad bar
without paying for it.
