Soup is good... so is stir fry or an omelet.
Last week bunch radishes were on sale at 10 bunches for $10 but the
store in town doesn't make you buy all ten so I planned to buy one at
a buck. When I looked for the radishes I didn't see any so I asked
the produce guy and he told that all the leaves wilted so he cut them
off and packaged the radishes in styrofoam trays and had two left.
When I looked each tray contained three pounds of beautiful large
radishes and priced at $1.49. Both would have been too much so I
decided to buy one, actually one was too much but even if I didn't use
them all the price was right. At home I washed and sliced some into a
tossed salad, excellent crisp red radishes. The next day I snacked on
a handful dipped in kosher salt. There were still plenty left so I
decided to do a stir fry for me with onions and garlic and prepared an
Oriental sauce thickened with cornstarch. Was excellent and I ate it
all... my wife is not big on radishes and won't touch onions. I gotta
say, it's not easy to cook for someone who can't eat onions but I
manage, and at least she can eat garlic. I'll never understand why
she can eat tons of garlic but no onion at all.
