It's a sacrifice we must perform to supply vegetables with enough manure
from farm animals to nourish the fields and acres where they grow - unless,
of course, you prefer manufactured fertilizer that kills all living
organisms in the soil and makes it dependent on them. Polluting the water
and killing fishes, too.
I don't buy meat from mistreated animals, and they had unpolluted (as
far as it's possible nowadays) food, too.
