raisins would be ok too. can toast the pecans
a bit first to bring out more flavor.

i don't usually like raisins in the regular
version of waldorf salad, the apples are often
sweet enough. i also change the sauce around
quite a bit using different sweet and sour
combinations and different spices.

all recipes are just a starting point...
enjoy!

some cookies are good, take a fairly soft
bland shortbread cookie, dunk in something
to make things stick to it and roll it in
crushed pecans, top it with a marachino cherry.

and of course pecan sandies.
