"If you didnt already have it marked in your diary, Yorkshire Pudding Day
is tomorrow, 3rd February. Why such a day exists we dont know, but were
damn well glad that it does.
While you could have a roast to celebrate the occasion I mean it would be
rude not to mark the day in some shape or form now that you know of its
annual existence Morrisons have come up with a potentially superior idea.
Their "Yorkshire Pudding Pizza has arrived just in time for the big day.
To me, this seems like a natural progression. If theres one food thats
always going to elevate a meal then its cheese, and the idea of melting
cheese over a Yorkshire pud seems like something we should have been doing a
long time ago.
Plus, Yorkies were already the perfect shape to be filled with pizza
toppings. Morrisons have simply stretched them out and made the notion a
reality.
Morrisons Yorkshire Pudding Pizza is available in two flavours: classic
pepperoni and meat feast (meatballs, pepperoni, spicy beef and jalapenos),
so theres no option for vegetarians unfortunately though theres nothing
stopping you from attempting a home-made variation tomorrow instead.
One potential concern is the issue of a soggy bottom. Regular pizzas can
generally withstand pretty impressively the abundance of cheese, tomato, and
wet substances that are piled on top of them without becoming limp in the
process.
Yorkshire puddings, however, are kind of designed to melt a little bit when
doused with sauce (think about how wonderful the texture goes when theyre
drenched in gravy), suggesting that a Yorkshire pud pizza might leave more
topping in your lap than in your mouth.
Even so, Im more than willing to be proven wrong.
Costing just Β£3 each, the concoction has been launched in 491 Morrisons
shops and will be available until the 20th February.
Proving that the perfect job does exist is Morrisons "Yorkshire Pudding
Expert, Jenny Dixon, who said of the creation:

combining the two to create the ultimate comfort food for Yorkshire Pudding
Day...
The crust is made the same way as a typical Yorkshire pudding and is topped
the same way as one of our pizzas. Were looking forward to hearing what
