I think great music is always being made. 40 years from now, the younger generation is going to be expressing the same sentiments. OTOH, Mr. Gaye's heartfelt "What's Going On" would be one of the greatest albums I've ever had.

I'll ask my son what he thinks is the greatest decade of contemporary music. He's familiar with the music from the 60's to now.
