Here in the USA, at least in my area, shrimp size is labeled by
number of shrimp in a pound. Buy 21-30 count shrimp and that
means an average of 21-30 shrimp in a pound. Buy 31-40 count and
that's 31-40 shrimp in a pound.
For eating plain, I prefer the 31-40 or the 41-50. Nice
bite-sized. Also, the smaller the shrimp, the more taste they
have. The large ones are more bland but work well to butterfly
and sautee in garlic, etc.
