Our current home was chosen for its adaptability to future needs in
old age, so we hope we'll never need to move (or clear the loft and
garage, LOL). It's close to excellent medical services and facilities
and has been renovated for low maintenance and easy later life. Wheel
chair access to all downstairs rooms and garden.Downstairs wetroom
suitable for assisted toileting and bathing (wide/level access shower).
Downstairs bedrooms with space for hoist. Low-window views for the bed
or chairbound.
When we can't manage stairs any more, both of us or the lone survivor
could live downstairs leaving the upper floor as comfortable
accommodation for a live-in companion/ carer (their own bathroom, living
room and bedroom).
