Geez, that's lower than than the other online figures I Googled. The
differences really add up when using a lot of sugar--I just made some
Concord grape jam with "Sure-jell Fruit Pectin for Lower Sugar Recipes."
I calls for 5 cups, and we're talking about a 1.5 to 6.5 ounce
difference (depending upon whether you figure it's 7 or 8 ounce/cup).

Maybe I should contact Sure-jell (Kraft, IIRC) and see what weight
they're figuring on.
