First of all, you sound as though you are a Cherman. Second of all and this is as equally as important as my first statement: What kind of cheese did you use?
I've miked cheese sandwiches before and they turn out OK. What's missing is the nice buttery crust you get from doing them in the pan. It's not much work really. btw, change your nationality from Cherman to like some guy or gal from Lichtenstein or some place. Latvia is probably a better choice.
