Some guy they dredged out of the depths after the fact? Hardly a
ringing endorsement.
So the "witness" explains that even he knows Bush didn't serve his
full service:
"as for abandoning his assignment, this is untrue. Lt. Bush was
excused for a period to take employment in Florida for a congressman
and later in Alabama for a Senate campaign."
Whether these excuses were/are common or not, the claim that he
served his full service is clearly substantially false.
