I don't doubt it. I worked in a store for a while and I have done enough
shopping to make observations from the other side. I admit that I am
guilty of opening up easily opened packages, but only to make sure
everything is there. I have seen way too many people open them up to
examine the contents and then, if they like what they seem the shove it
back on the shelf and take an unopened one.
