I went into town yesterday to buy bread, veggies, soda, etc. and
decided to buy a butt half ham, was $1.09 lb, I found one exactly 10
pounds. Package said to heat in the oven at 325º F for 15 minutes per
pound, until internal temperature reached 130º F... should have needed
three hours but it needed four hours. It's very good ham, very meaty
and easy to carve... not nearly as salty as most cured hams. I
snapped a pic of the ham but I didn't feel like downloading for just
one pic... at a later date, otherwise the dwarf will say I'm lying...
if he needs more proof he's welcome to crawl into my trash can to
check out the greasy plastic wrapping, but not to worry, I have the
register receipt. Dessert will be my lime JELLO w/bananas... already
had some while the ham was heating, very good. I'll probably tire of
ham in 3-4 days so I'll freeze the rest for soup... I think a meaty
smoked ham bone makes far better bean soup than bacon... a nicer soup
with all those falling off the bone ham chunks rather than tiny no
account petrified bacon bits... and ham doesn't have all that fat to
deal with, plus ham costs a whole lot less... I don't even know the
price of bacon anymore but it has to cost more than $1.09 lb. Most of
the fat on ham is external, very easy to trim and makes a good treat
for the crows. Nope, I just don't feel like downloading one pic, but
I must say my new eTech xD memory adapter works very nicely, much
better than a wire and was only $7.
