Not much defies ham to improve a dish, except maybe bacon. I put ham
in my mac n' cheese. I also add ham to my red beans sans rice.
I've found a way to enjoy my red beans sans rice. I add chopped
onions and grated cheese and eat the dish with buttered sourdough
bread. Screw a buncha rice.
