No. The 'white Australia policy' you're referring to was gradually
dismantled, beginning in the late 1940's and was totally gone by 1973,
'74 or '75 (I forget which year). So not anything like 'fairly
recently'.

And what is your point in raising it anyway? Is this some retarded
competition between nations that you're into? What does it have to do
with the topic at hand?
