Nope. I probably said that I rarely order it or I don't serve it often or
something like that. I don't personally care for it and neither does my
daughter. But when I first was dating my husband, he called he place around
the corner, gave his name and pizza appeared. It's likely his favorite
food. He just shouldn't be eating it every day and for many years we didn't
get it much at all because he was the only one who liked it. We got far too
much for my liking in NY if only because it was cheap and readily available,
plus served at seemingly every party.
I am making or getting it more often now, especially when we have company
over because they seem to like it. They always say they are not staying for
dinner and yet they don't leave so I usually wind up making or getting
pizza. And they always seem to eat it. But if they didn't, I know that my
husband will. There hasn't been a pizza made that he won't eat. I know I
have said that.
Exception being that one vegetarian one that I got from a place on Cape Cod.
It was beyond horrible. They put mushy broccoli on it and it turned the
entire pizza a soggy mess. You couldn't even pick up a slice. It was so
disgusting that when they gave me a gift certificate for a free pizza, I did
not redeem it. Cape Cod doesn't seem to have good pizza. I was talking to
an Italian woman from NY about this. Although we were able to make passable
pizza at home, it wasn't easy and it wasn't as good as it is in other
places.
My husband's cousin was asked to open a pizza place on the Cape and she
declined. She said that making a good crust there wasn't possible. She had
tried. She thought it was something in the air.
You know how you have to let the dough rest? Because if you don't, it snaps
back on itself? Well that rest time is usually about 20 minutes. But there
it was over an hour.
