IBM dropped the ball, as IBM thought the money was gonna be in the hardware
of the PC. Bill Gates and MicroSUCKS made the very shrewd business decision
to buy outright a stinkly simple text based operating system called QDOS
(for Quick and Dirty Operating System(, rebranded it as MS-DOS and LICENSED
it not only to IBM but also to any Tom, Dick and Smarmy who could throw a
hardware box together and speciously call it "100% IBM compatable"!!! And
that is why the PC market dominated the personal computing market for so
long!!

I kind of forgot about them until you mentioned them. I do remember when I
first started working, they were considered the giants and we thought they'd
take over the world! Then my friend's boyfriend got a job for Hewitt
Packard and he thought they would take over the world My how things have
changed!
