You need a new doctor, one who realizes that the "nutritional pyramid" is
completely out of date. There is absolutely nothing wrong with eating low-carb,
but you wouldn't know since you haven't educated YOURSELF on the benefits of
that way of eating and the foods that are on the plans.
What is wrong with eating beef, pork, fish, chicken, seafood, eggs, cheese,
vegetables, and fruits? What could hurt a diabetic when deleting sugar and
white flour products from meal plans?
I urge you to check out alt.support.diet.low-carb and ask there about the
dozens of diabetics who have either gained complete control over their blood
sugar levels or have been able to completely stop their oral meds.
My doctor, an internist, is on Atkins himself and has lost over 40 pounds.
There are many doctors who now understand the low-carbing diet plan and
recommend it.
Please have your doctor explain to you why he believes low-carbing will kill
you, so you can explain it to us.
