That was my attitude for years. I had some Courvoisier on the booze
shelf for many years, used only for cooking. I started making an onion
soup late one morning that called for brandy or vermouth. I was out of
vermouth so I used some cognac. While I was at it I poured a shot of
the cognac for myself for exploratory consideration.

By the time I finished the onion soup I was a cognac fan. And so I remain.
