foodsaver: waste of money? useful?

Are we talking about vacuum packed heat-sealed bags? If so, yes I do
have one and use it quite often. Very handy for those times you have a
lot of something and want to freeze it or otherwise store it for a
long time. I still have some salmon I packed several months ago and it
could still pass for fresh.
They can have uses other than for just storing food too, I have some
firearms that never get used packed away in 'foodsaver' bags, for
example.
I'd argue though that if you have to ask whether 'foodsavers' is of
any use or value - then you probably don't need one.
