My wife cooks them frequently when they are in season. She scrapes the
beards off the sides of them and soaks them in salted water for about an
hour and then boils them for about 12 minutes.
My opinion.... I like them. They are in season at the same time as
asparagus. They have a taste and texture similar to asparagus. They
cost a hell of a lot more than asparagus.... so I usually just buy and
cook asparagus.
