Tinned food *does* have a particular taste, it's not something I lose
sleep over though. I do use tinned tomatoes sometimes, usually in Spag
Bol, and any 'tinned' taste seems to dissipate or be dominated by the
other flavours.

In fact, I really like tinned peas and asparagus, even though I also
love the fresh version of both. And I can't seem to cook chick
peas/garbanzo beans as well as the tinned version.
Hmm, I haven't made houmous for quite a while, might have to do
something about that.
