Even better is kosher salt with bulb anise... but bulb anise is so
darned pricey, and it's not easy to grow, I've tried and it grew but
too slowly so was very bitter. When I see fresh bulb anise with their
fronds I'll treat myself... the fronds are good for seasoning fish
stock. Save the stalks and let them dry, then use them as a rack to
grill fish, they impart a lovely flavor.
About the only cream-of soup I enjoy is cream of celery.
