I, too, use the app but never sync it. My phone is always, always with me
so no need to access my lists elsewhere. I also still use paper lists on
occasion for bigger shopping trips only because it's faster to write them
out than type them when I have a gazillion things to get. I like using the
app more so than the built in list feature on my phone.
