Where I live, it's usually the oldsters who can spot a con a mile
away, and draw public attention to the latest phone and email scams etc.

They're drawing on a lifetime of first hand experience of human
nature; far better equipped to do so than many from a generation whose
"social experience" happens on a screen, or is second hand from TV.
