Are you suggesting that American-made floor jacks do not fail? As it goes, you should use floor jacks only to lift cars up on to jack stands or some other redundant support. It ain't real safe to rely on a single jack to hold your big old American car off of your body. The hydralic pressure in the jack is retained by a tiny little needle valve - like a giant boulder being held by a finger. My suggestion is that you learn proper floor jack safty. You must have been asleep when they taught this in auto shop 101. :-)
