In the U.S.A., "spaghetti sauce" refers to commercial jarred (or tinned)
Marinara (meatless) sauce, sometimes with a few minor additions. It is
pretty bland as sold, so we often add extra garlic, basil, oregano, wine
or whatever to make it more palatable.
