Indeed. One might expect that people in a cooking forum might have
broader tastes and food interests than the general public, but I would
have thought that it would be at least 50% here.

Maybe they should have looked at it within cultures where it is more
popular. Never heard of the stuff when I was a kid and I don't think I
ever even tried it until the 90s.
