I finally got my hands on the DVD (two or three years after seeing it) and managed to figure out from the main menu - pretty fast - which scene I wanted. It was in the last quarter - the scene where Julia Child was handed some American cookbook that turns out to be full of recipes with junk ingredients - such as marshmallow fluff. The title was "Real Home Cooking" by Della Simmons.

Except I can't find anything even similar to that. That is, assuming Della Simmons doesn't exist, the only books with that title are post-1990 - by Pillsbury.

So does anyone know more about the cookbook she was REALLY given?
