The shipping cost is pretty important for us on this rock. I got a deal
on a ASUS Transformer Book T100 Z3740 which has a list price of $399. I
got it from B&H Photo for $424 with shipping. Amazon's price of $480
with shipping was not a contender.
The ASUS T100 looks to be a very hot item. It's a 10.1" tablet with a
detachable keyboard that uses a new Intel processor that claims to have
an 11 hour battery life. Amazing if true. The thing that sold it to me
was that it runs on full blown Windows 8.1 and comes with Microsoft
Office 2013 Home and Student. Essentially it's a less elegant Microsoft
Surface Pro at less than half the price. What a deal! The $399 price is
for the 64 GB model. I suspect that there will be some price gouging and
the sellers will try to slip the $349 32 GB unit past consumers at $399
or higher. If you're interested in this machine, please know what you're
getting.
