Have a small jar of broken cinnamon sticks. Don't like to put these usually
quite small bits in a curry as they need fishing out at the end.

Is there any way to reduce them to a powder? Can they be softened? I know
a really strong grinder or pestle might do it, but I don't possess these
items. Grateful for any suggestions.
