Depends on whether you have Direct or InDirect heat. For Indirect heat, a
cast iron pan probably won't get hot enough to do much good. If you have a
side burner, probably the best thing to use is a wok. There are several that
can be used on a grill or on a side burner.
Of the types of pans that can be used on a grill-they should be carbon
steel: One has a solid bottom and holes on the sides, another has holes on
the bottom and sides, a third is solid all around.
